Shirley Metherell - CEO and Founder.
Shirley is the founder of The Elizabeth Foundation and pioneer of the family centred services
that have made what The Elizabeth Foundation what it is today. Mother of Elizabeth, Shirley has
dedicated more than two decades to spearheading the provision of early intervention for
all deaf children.

Sally Moger - Resources and Business Development
Sally has overall responsibility for financial and resource management, including
our relationships with public bodies. She works with colleagues on the senior
management team to develop and deliver The Elizabeth Foundation's strategy and
plans, and to ensure that appropriate resources are available for these. Sally
also oversees the various legal/good practice compliance frameworks that are relevant
to the Foundation's work, including governance and trusteeship matters, and manages
many of the day to day issues arising in IT, maintenance, telecoms and other
infrastructure matters.

Margaret Southern - Senior Teacher Yorkshire
Margaret leads The Elizabeth Foundation's team of teachers and nursery assistants at our
Yorkshire centre, and deals with operational issues there on a day to day basis. Margaret
ensures that children's progress is monitored and that curricula respond to the needs of
children. She also works with children and families on a one-to-one basis, delivering
expert support and education that complements The Elizabeth Foundation's group
sessions and other educational activities.

Helen Robinshaw- Teacher of the Deaf, Hampshire
Helen is a member of our Hampshire-headquarters team of teachers and nursery assistants. She is a Teacher of the Deaf and provides specialist one-to-one support for babies and children at The Elizabeth Foundation. Together with other Teachers on the team, Helen ensures that children's progress is monitored and that curricula respond to the needs of children. |

Pat Davey - Teacher of the Deaf (Home Learning Programme)
Pat uses her extensive experience and skills as a Teacher of the Deaf, to provide information, support and encouragement to families who have enrolled on our Home Learning Programme. Getting to know each family and their deaf child, she brings The Elizabeth Foundation to families who cannot reach one of our family centres on a regular basis.

Teacher of the Deaf, Yorkshire - no postholder at present
Our Yorkshire-based team of teachers and nursery assistants work under the direction of Margaret Southern, leading groups of pre school deaf children and assisting with delivery of our one to one programme for babies and toddlers and their families. Teachers ensure that children's progress is monitored and that curricula respond to the needs of each child.

Our Teachers of the Deaf deliver many of The Elizabeth Foundation's core services for deaf
children and their families, including the group sessions for Babies, Toddlers and Pre School
Children. They work with families to produce Individual Education Plans for each child, and
deliver these through group and one-to-one sessions. They direct a team of nursery leaders and assistants.

Alison Robinson - Fundraising and Finance
Alison organises the fundraising events that The Elizabeth Foundation runs annually,
and also provides support to friends of The Elizabeth Foundation who run their own events
on our behalf (eg: people running marathons, collecting sponsorships, arranging coffee mornings). She carries out the day to day finance recording and processing like bank reconciliations, purchase ledger and payroll.

Karen Vaughan - Trust Fundraising
Karen prepares and co-ordinates applications to a wide range of grant-making trusts and
organizations, to help fund The Elizabeth Foundation's charitable work and projects. She works with colleagues to identify projects and ongoing services, matching these to appropriate charitable funding sources and managing the process from research and initial contact through to acceptance result and follow-up reporting and monitoring. |

Desktop Publishing and promotional items
Our regular volunteers are the main producers of lots of our printed material including Home Learning Programme resources,
adverts, newsletters, mailing inserts, and classroom resources.

Julie Goddard - Administration and Clinics
Julie is one of our team of Receptionists and Clinic Administrators at our Hampshire
centre, working closely with our partners Portsmouth Hospital Trust in the delivery of
paediatric audiology clinics and newborn hearing screening. Julie specialises in supporting newborn hearing screening.

Jill is main Receptionist and also provides Clinic Administration support. Jill's welcoming face (or voice on the telephone) will usually be your first point of contact with The Elizabeth Foundation in Hampshire. |

Our Volunteers
We are indebted to our band of volunteers, who use their special skills and commitment to help
The Elizabeth Foundation give deaf children the chance to learn to talk.
We are grateful to all our staff for their adaptability and varied talents, and for significant
practical support throughout the year at our fundraising and promotional events which often
take place during weekends and evenings.
